Who should have a website?
A website is a marketing tool, a support tool, and an information tool.
Any person or organization that uses direct mail, brochures, business
cards, advertising, or newsletters to promote or support their organization
probably needs a website. A website today is just as important as a business
card and is a highly effective tool.
I don't sell anything, so what would I put on my website?
Most websites on the Internet today are not there to sell products. Websites
are used to provide information to potential customers. Think of it
this way: Anyone who is looking at your website is a warm lead because
they took the time to read your website. Now that you have their attention,
its time to heat that lead up. Websites provide answers and encourage
customers to call. By the time the phone rings, they are ready to do
business.
Will a website grow my business?
A bad website hurts business, a good website can bring outstanding results.
There are two types of growth brought on by websites, active and passive.
Active growth is when your
site is a direct sales
tool such as a shopping cart or a product brochure site. Passive growth
is from growth caused by establishing a better experience for your
existing customers. A professional site with answers to questions,
access to support, etc., all help your customers to have a better experience.
This makes customers happier. This leads to more referrals and better
customer retention. Passive growth comes improving the customer experience.
My business is small, do I really need a website?
Not all companies want to support the entire world. Consider a small landscaping
company. They would not want customers from all around the world. They
have to turn down any calls outside of their target areas. The landscaping
can greatly benefit from a website though. The sales process can be
greatly enhanced by a website and customers can use the website to
learn how to resolve dozens of common landscaping problems. This is
both active and passive growth in action.
How do I maintain a website? I don't want to learn HTML.
There are several methods for maintaining a website and which tool is the
best depends a lot on the specifics of your website. A consultant can
help you determine which method is right for you.
How much does a website cost?
Websites range in prices depending on what you need. If you build your own,
you will need to spend some money of authoring tools, books, etc. If
you hire a consultant, you will get a better site and you will get
it faster. The most common types of sites typically costs between $500
and $1,000. Sites with shopping carts, streaming media, or programming
requirements will cost between $1,500 and $2,500 in most cases. Of
course, it's a dangerous game for us to post prices here. You really
need to call and we will discuss your particular needs and give you
a price that fits your requirements.
